Inauguration of Innovation, Design & Entrepreneurship (IDE) Bootcamp – Edition 3, Phase I 

AICTE and Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell's Boot Camp on Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship was inaugurated on 6th April, 2026, at Dulal Mitra Auditorium of Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College, Durgapur. The Boot Camp was inaugurated by Dr. Naresh Chandra Murmu, Director, CSIR - CMERI. Dr. Naresh Chandra Murmu was the Chief Guest of the programme. The Guest of Honour was Dr. Tapas Roy, Assistant Director, Directorate of MSME, Govt of West Bengal. Dr. Hirak Ranjan Das, Nodal Head of the Boot Camp, Dr. Satyajit Bose, President, Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College (Society), Mr. Tarun Bhattacharya, General Secretary of BCREC Society, Mr. Jernail Singh, Treasurer, BCREC Society, Dr. Sanjay S. Pawar, Principal, Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College, Ms, Gita Gopinath, Wadhwani Foundation, Mr. Keramat Hossain, SPOC nodal centre were present in the programme. Almost 221 students from various institutes of Bihar, Haryana, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir attending the Boot Camp.

‎The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Sanjay S. Pawar. He said that invention, design and entrepreneurship were the focus of the Camp. Dr. Murmu said in his speech said that this camp was to teach the students how to innovate, how to conceive deign and how to think according to the necessity of the country. He said students must choose the right problem and its solution must create impact in the society. Dr. Tapas Roy, the Guest of Honour said students should know how to set up start ups, whom to contact for that and Management Development Programme. Dr. Satyajit Bose said Employers search for skills in a candidate more than the qualification.

‎The Central Inauguration was done by Prof. Yogesh Singh, Chairman, AICTE. He said that participants had been selected through rigorous screening process.
