Dr. B C Roy Engineering College organized and celebrated International Women’s Day with great enthusiasm and a strong commitment to promoting gender equality, women’s safety, and empowerment. The Chief Guest of the programme was Ms. Rupali Das Banerjee, SI, Officer-in-Charge, Women’s Police Station, Durgapur.The event was commenced by Prof. Arunava Mookherjee, Presiding Officer, Internal Complaints Committee, BCREC, who highlighted the significance of gender equality and the need for ensuring a safe environment for women. Vice Principal, Prof. Dr. K. M. Hossain, spoke about the importance of International Women’s Day, emphasizing the vital contributions of women in society. He also stressed the importance of awareness regarding women’s rights, equal opportunities, and maintaining respect and dignity both at home and in the workplace.

Prof. Dr. G. S. Panda, Registrar, BCREC, felicitated the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest, in her address, shared valuable insights on women’s safety, self-protection from misconduct, and the importance of digital awareness. She also highlighted the significance of women’s rights and shared important emergency helpline numbers, including 100 for immediate assistance and mentioned 1098 for child-related issues.
The event concluded on a meaningful note, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to empowering women and creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive society.
