Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College, Durgapur proudly celebrated World Environment Day 2026 on 5th June 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and faculty members. Organized by the Department of Basic Science and Humanities (BSH) at the APC Roy Bhawan Seminar Hall, the event focused on raising awareness about environmental conservation and promoting sustainable living. The programme was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay S. Pawar, Principal, Prof. (Dr.) K. M. Hossain, Vice Principal, Prof. (Dr.) G. S. Panda, Registrar and Prof. (Dr.) Arnab Bandyopadhyay, Head of the Department of BSH.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay S. Pawar emphasised the urgent need for environmental protection and encouraged students to embrace eco-friendly practices in their daily lives. He highlighted the importance of collective action in building a sustainable future for generations to come. The celebration featured engaging competitions including Power Point Presentation, Poster Presentation, and Quiz Competitions, where first-year students from various departments showcased their creativity, knowledge, and commitment towards environmental sustainability. Outstanding participants were recognized and awarded by the respective Heads of Departments. The event concluded with a Tree Plantation Programme on the campus, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to environmental stewardship and a greener future.
