One-day seminar and workshop Automation Connect 1.0
The Department of Electrical Engineering, Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College (BCREC), Durgapur, in association with the ISA Kolkata Section, successfully organised the One-day seminar and workshop Automation Connect 1.0 at the Albert Einstein Seminar Hall. The programme provided students with valuable exposure to Industrial Automation, Industry 4.0, emerging technologies and career opportunities, while creating a meaningful platform for interaction among students, industry professionals and members of the ISA community.
The event was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay S. Pawar, Principal, BCREC; Mr. Sushanta Saha, President, ISA Kolkata Section; Prof. Chanchal Dey, HOD, Department of Applied Physics, University of Calcutta; Mr. Debabrata Sarkar, Past President, ISA Kolkata Section; Mr. Soumyajit Dey, ISA Member, ISA Kolkata Section; Mr. Ram Chandra Chakraborty, Program Chair, ISA Kolkata Section; Mr. Chanchal Chakraborty, President-Elect, ISA Kolkata Section; and Dr. Shibendu Mahata, HOD, Department of Electrical Engineering, BCREC, along with faculty members, staff and students.
A key highlight was the inauguration of the ISA Student Chapter at BCREC, affiliated with the ISA Kolkata Section. Inaugurated by Mr. Sushanta Saha, the chapter will provide students with greater opportunities for technical engagement, industry interaction, professional networking and practical exposure to automation and industrial systems. The technical session on Industry 4.0 offered valuable insights into smart manufacturing, industrial automation and technology-driven industrial transformation. The career planning session and panel discussion further helped students understand the skills, competencies and career opportunities emerging in the automation and engineering sectors.
The programme concluded with an interactive Q&A session, enabling students to engage directly with the experts and gain practical industry perspectives. Automation Connect 1.0 successfully strengthened the bridge between academia and industry, promoting knowledge exchange, professional networking and career awareness. Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College continues to remain committed to industry-oriented learning, experiential education and meaningful engagement with professional bodies.
