The Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College, Durgapur, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC), organized an insightful panel session titled “Panel Discussion with Regional and National Start-up Ecosystem Enablers.”

Held at the Albert Einstein Seminar Hall, the programme brought together students, faculty members, and industry leaders for an engaging dialogue on entrepreneurship, innovation, and emerging enterprise technologies. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by an inaugural student performance and opening addresses by the Principal and the Head of the Department, FMS.

The panel featured the leadership team of Satsafeti, an industrial deep-tech enterprise founded in 2019. Mr. Snehendu Mondal, Founder & CEO, drawing on his professional experience with GAIL and Honeywell, shared valuable insights into the application of Edge AI, Computer Vision, and proprietary operating systems in industrial safety solutions, including the company’s flagship technology, Satsafeti EYE. Mrs. Arpita Mondal, Director, emphasized the transformative potential of technology in advancing safety initiatives across industries.

Adding an organizational perspective, Ms. Niha Biswas, HR & Administration, spoke about people management, organizational development, administrative systems, and scalability in growing ventures. Mr. Avik Ghatak, Head – Business Development and an alumnus of BCREC, provided practical insights into building strategic partnerships, developing market opportunities, and driving sustainable commercial growth.

The interactive session offered management students a valuable opportunity to gain first-hand perspectives on deep-tech commercialization, entrepreneurial decision-making, business development, and the evolving start-up ecosystem. The engaging exchange was further enriched by an active Q&A session, allowing students to interact directly with the industry experts.
