The Department of Civil Engineering, Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College, Durgapur, successfully organized a One-Day Workshop on “Real-Time Air Quality Parameters Monitoring Using IoT”.
Resource Person : Dr. Subhasish Das, Assistant Professor, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, B. P. Poddar Institute of Management & Technology, Kolkata and Dr. Shovan Roy, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, BCREC was the coordinator of the event.
Students gained hands-on experience using ESP32 microcontrollers and sensors to collect, transmit, and visualize real-time air quality data via web servers and MQTT protocols. For future civil engineers, mastering these IoT applications is vital for building sustainable infrastructure, managing construction site emissions, and designing healthier, technology-driven smart cities.
