Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College organized the HR Conclave 2026 on 22nd May, 2026 at its Dulal Mitra Auditorium. Industry talent acquisition leaders like Mr. Souvik Das, the Regional Head of Academic Alliance Group (India) of TCS, Mr. Abhik Chakraborty, Manager, Campus Recruitments and Engagements of Cognizant, Ms. Debasmita Sarkar, Associate Director, Talent Acquisition, KPMG, Mr. Abhisek Roy, Regional Manager, HRBP (North & East India) of INFRA.MARKETING, Mr. Dharmendra Kumar Jaiswal, Regional Business Head, RDC Concrete, Mr. Subhankar Ghosh, Regional HR, Ultratech Cement attended the Conclave. They were felicitated by Dr. Satyajit Bose, President, BCREC Society, Mr. Tarun Bhattacharya, General Secretary, BCREC Society, Mr. Jernail Singh, Treasurer, BCREC Society, Mrs. Mita Mitra, Vice President, BCREC Society, Mrs. Rita Singh, Assistant Secretary, BCREC Society, Mr. Abhisek Mukherjee, Member, BCREC Society and Dr. Sanjay S. Pawar, Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College.
A Panel Discussion was also held involving these industry leaders and almost five hundred students of the college. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Sanjay S. Pawar. He said that the objective of the Conclave was to understand the expectation of the industry from the students during their talent acquisition drives to help the students to prepare themselves for their interviews. Dr. Satyajit Bose said in his address "As the technology is evolving students should learn to adopt themselves to this evolution to enhance their employability. Students are the engine of development and they must have the power to overcome the obstacles to be retained in their professional life.
In the panel discussion industry leaders described the qualities they search among the students to hire them. In their opinion students must have skills as well as strong willingness to learn new things. It transpired in the discussion that text book learning is only 15 per cent effective in professional life. Other 85 per cent skills are Interdiscipline knowledge, communication skills, hard working and collaborative attitude etc.
